Prague International Airport is officially known as Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG), the busiest airport in the Czech Republic. It is named after the first President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel. It is located next to Kněževes, 12 km south of the center of Prague and 12 km southeast of Kladno. In 2018, it served 17 million passengers. It is also an important base for Czech Airlines, Smartwings and Ryanair.

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and the 13th most populous city in the European Union, home to 1.3 million people. It has been one of the most popular tourist destinations since the Iron Curtain was lifted. Its historic structures have remained almost completely intact in the vicissitudes of decades and centuries; one of the most active and diverse architectural collections in the world, to the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neo-Renaissance, Neo-Gothic, Art Nouveau, Cubist, Classicist and ultramodern styles.

There are many sights in the Old Town. The – not everyday – astronomical clock can be seen in the town hall. Our Lady’s Catholic Church, built in the Gothic style, can also be interesting, built in the 14th century with 80-meter-high towers. The Stone Bell House can be found at the Old Town Square. Europe’s oldest and still active Synagogue is also located here, in Prague, built in the 1200s. At the entrance to the Old Town rises a Gothic tower, which separates the old part of the city from the new part of the city. It is an attraction due to the Art Nouveau style of the municipal office, as well as a famous concert hall. The Clam-Gallas Palace also enriches this part of the city, it is a baroque palace built in 1713.

In the New Town part of Prague we can see more interesting things. The National Museum near Wenceslas Square, the largest museum in the Czech Republic, displays many areas from the natural sciences to the social sciences. The National Theater and Charles Square are also famous. You can also visit many churches, such as St. Wenceslas and St. Stephen’s Church.
